Dr Pan Woei Jack

Dr Pan Woei Jack is an Orthopaedic Surgeon subspecializing in Spine surgery. He obtained his basic medical degree from Trinity College, University of Dublin, Ireland in 1994. He had varied experience as a junior doctor in general practice, rehabilitation medicine, orthopaedics, geriatrics, emergency medicine, general surgery, hand surgery, paediatric orthopaedics and colorectal surgery before embarking on his love of Orthopaedic Surgery as a trainee.

He was admitted as a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2002 and in that same year, the Master of Medicine in Orthopaedic Surgery from the National University of Singapore. At the pinnacle of his training, he was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2007. He has worked at the Orthopaedic Departments of Changi General Hospital, KK Womens’ & Childrens’ Hospital, Singapore General Hospital and National University Hospital.

For further training in Spine Surgery, he attended a 1 year fellowship at the internationally renowned Wooridul Spine Hospital in Seoul, South Korea in 2008. There he underwent training in Spine Surgery especially Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery. These techniques included key-hole surgery or percutaneous techniques. These surgery include annuloplasty, nucleoplasty and percutaneous endoscopic lumbar discectomy (or key-hole discectomy). These type of surgery has minimal destruction to tissue and little down-time. He had also spent short periods as an observer at the Boston Medical Centre and also at Toronto Western Hospital.

Dr Pan was a mentor to junior doctors in Orthopaedic Training in Singapore and held a teaching position at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. He has also been a faculty at Spine Courses held in Singapore for international attendees.
Dr Pan is a member of the Singapore Medical Association, Singapore Orthopaedic Association, AO Spine and the North American Spine Society.

Prior to starting his private practice, Dr Pan was a consultant at Changi General Hospital. He was also involved in the care of patients with general orthopaedic conditions like fractures, sports injuries, joint replacement, hand surgery, shoulder, elbow, foot and ankle problems.

Currently, Dr Pan is a visiting consultant to the Department of Paediatric Orthopaedics in KK Womens’ & Children’s Hospital.

Dr Pan’s principle is to treat all his patients like family members and limit the suffering and costs.

He started private practice at Life Spine & Orthopaedics but decided to set up his own private practice at Pan Orthopaedics & Spine Surgery to provide a more personalised service & treatment for his patients.

These treatments include spine pain treatment, fracture treatment, arthritis treatment, sciatica treatment and scoliosis assessment. Dr Pan also practices general orthopaedics that treats sports injuries, shoulder pain, elbow pain, wrist and hand injuries, hip pain, knee pain, ankle and foot problems and also lumps and bumps and soft tissue infections. The treatment would initially involve a full history and examination. Subsequently, radiological examinations will be required. These may involve  X-rays, Ct Scans, Magnetic Resonance Imaging and occasionally ultrasound as well. Dr Pan would provide a comprehensive work-up before commencing spine pain treatment, sciatica treatment, scoliosis treatment, arthritis treatment and also fracture treatment.

Dr Pan can admit patients to Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Gleneagles Hospital, Mount Elizabeth(Orchard) Hospital, Mount Alvernia Hospital, Parkway East Hospital and Farrer Park Hospital.
